It’s 6.00 am on a wet and misty but beautiful morning as we sit on the street-level terrace eating breakfast in Yangshuo before our cab arrives for the ride to the airport. Yangshuo was one place we were very reluctant to leave. It’s tranquility washed over you like a shroud and enveloped you to such a degree that you forget everything but the surrounding vista. The Leader of the Opposition (my wife, not Malcolm Turnbull) and I are back from a great holiday in Cairns. And, guess what? Not a surgical mask to be seen at Brisbane or Cairns airport, on the shuttle buses or on any tour coaches, none. So there you go, it’s all a storm in the proverbial tea-cup. Read more..
