The venom directed at Julia Gillard

Australian politics has hit an all-time low, with Julia Gillard the most despised Prime Minister in decades. Members of her Labor Party aren’t far behind in the hated department.

The Gillard government has shown scant respect for ordinary citizens and has spat on the voters and disregarded their wishes. Gillard has told lies and reneged on a promise of ‘no carbon tax’  in her government.

Her actions have brought about protests and rallies, the biggest being “The Convoy Of No Confidence” where 600 cars and trucks converged on Parliament House to protest against the carbon tax, the curtailing of live beef exports, her attempts to inhibit free speech, and general discontent with a government that has fallen under the Green regime and lost it’s way. Now illegal to criticise the government

It seems Labor’s integrity continues to plummet. Correction, it seems Labor has had no integrity and hasn’t for a while. It’s just that now as it’s fraudulent behavior is being exposed, Australians are starting to see it.

Gillard who claims as a lawyer she was too naive to understand that setting up false accounts for her boyfriend to defraud a union whilst she lived with him (in the house paid for with defrauded funds) is now not naive enough to threaten legal and political action against media outlets who scrutinise her past. And naivety seems a strange character trait of anyone who who in their mid 30s has worked in law for years and at the time held a responsible legal position that would require anything but naivety. It would be reasonable to think that such a person would be both well informed as to legal actions and consequences, particularly in the setting up of accounts. Gillard would want us to think otherwise. The naive thing would be to not question why when over a million dollars of union funds went missing no one was prosecuted. It would also appear there are a lot more questions to this matter than answers given.

Giant PR machine swings into gear against the Convoy

It’s important for the big-government-dependent parties to deny the power of the Convoy.

Less than a week ago, there was a rally at Parliament House with around 3,000-5,000 people. And today there was another one, this one with around 600 vehicles according to Matt and Janet Thompson, and this one by people who have gone to extraordinary lengths, driving up to 5,000 kilometers from all corners of the country.

The convoy is a rolling protest that involved thousands of people across the nation. In Sydney, people switched their headlights on in sympathy, and Andrew Bolt records at least one witness suggesting half the cars on the road had their lights on.

Feelings and support for the convoy are widespread and running high. One of the convoy supporters from near Clermont reports: ‘In only 24 hours, we gathered 300 signatures for the petition, local beef producers had organised fuel donations of over $13,000 and the CWA had organised food and drinks for everyone on the convoy.  This support from a town of only 2000 was amazing and a testament to a united effort.’

Dale Stiller’s comment is typical on Just Grounds: The convoy has experienced nothing but support. There have been flags, balloons & ribbons on gates, signs & fences all the way from Rockhampton to Goondiwindi. Other trucks as they pass on the highway are on the 2way, wishing the convoy well and of course often accompanied by a blast of the air horns.

The bottom line is that the nation supports the Convoy: There are over 100,000 votes on the NineMSN poll and 80% are with the trucks.
